These workshops may be taken individually and independently. (Yoga teachers please note that Vahini is E-RYT 500, YACEP) and each workshop qualifies therefore for continuing education.)

Each class day will have the following schedule:

9-10:30 Spiritual practices: guided Energization Exercises and meditation (recommended optional class )

10:30-11p (tea&snacks)

11-1:30 class

Lunch break (bring your vegetarian meal and we eat together)

2:30-4 class (the class ends between 3:30 and 4)


Healing Power of Prana

4 Saturdays, March 11, 18, 25, and April 1 at 9a to 4p (60 min lunch break)

Yogananda introduced the practice of”self-healing with prana” through a series of exercises that allow us to draw directly from the unlimited source of cosmic energy and teach us to direct energy where it is needed. Thanks to a greater flow of prana, we can revitalize any part of the body, establish mental clarity and peace and make all aspects of our life more dynamic and fruitful.

In this course we explore a simple, yet profound, truth: when the Life Force (prana) is stimulated and properly addressed, it becomes the tool of all the different forms of self-healing.

The Life Therapy exercises you will practice include:

–    Energization Exercises: These include 39 exercises that will bring prana directly to cells, muscles, tissues, and organs.

–    Superconscious Living Exercises: a series of 6 simple exercises that elevate our mental outlook and activates greater awareness

–    Pranic techniques for self-healing include affirmations, breath control, visualization, chanting AUM, to name just a few. 

–    Heliotropic techniques: practices that combine prana with the power of solar rays

–    Meditation techniques that concentrate the powers of the mind and calm emotional disturbances

 Among the topics covered:

 –    The six pillars of radiant health of body, mind, and spiritual success: diet, exercise, purification, energy control, positive thinking, and meditation.

–    How to strengthen your aura and protect yourself from negativity

–    How to overcome fatigue and lack of enthusiasm


Healing Power of Mind

The quality of our life, health, happiness, our creative accomplishments all arise in our minds. As Yogananda says: “As soon as you understand that the mind controls everything, you will be completely free”.

Just as we have a daily food diet, we also have a mental diet that we are often not fully aware of! Thoughts and mental habits arise automatically, apparently by their own will. Even when we are not fully aware of them, they strongly affect our health, favoring or blocking the flow of healing cosmic energy which is always available to us but which we must learn to attract into our lives in a correct and effective way. We must begin, then, with becoming aware and mindful of our thoughts.

Among the topics covered:

 •   How thoughts and words affect your emotions, your behavior, and your health

•   How to evaluate your “mental diet” in order to determine which aspects of it are healthy or harmful

•   Powerful techniques for creating constructive mental habits

•   How to develop more faculties of the mind: concentration, willpower, and the ability to visualize How to use the conscious mind to restructure subconscious habits and emotions

The Life Therapy exercises you will practice include those from the March workshop:

•   Energy recharge: it includes 39 exercises that will bring prana directly to cells, muscles, tissues, and organs. Mindfulness requires a higher level of energy, especially in the brain.

•   Exercises for a superconscious life: a series of 6 simple exercises that elevate our mental perspective and activate greater awareness. These are “quick start” techniques to banish subconscious programming and stimulate mental awakening.

•   Pranic techniques for self-healing include using the breath to awaken energy and direct it into the brain and upper energy centers. Also included will be affirmations, visualization and mantra.

•   Meditation techniques that concentrate the powers of the mind and calm emotional disturbances. We will focus on an effective concentration technique that brings peace and self-awareness. It is used with a powerful mantra.


Healing Power of Vibration

4 Saturdays, November 18 & 25 and December 2 & 9 at 9a to 4p (60 min lunch break)

The entire material universe is made up of vibrations. Sounds, shapes, colors, words, music, and mantras penetrate directly into our consciousness with healthy or harmful effects on our well-being.”Good health” is that state in which the vibrational frequencies of our physical, mental and spiritual body are in harmony with each other and with the frequency of Cosmic Consciousness.

Yogananda uses multiple forms of vibrations and frequencies for self-healing. These include superconscious inspirational chants, mantras, healing affirmations, prayers, and some psycho-physical exercises.
