Return to the Spirit of Yoga!

Ananda Yoga is classic hatha yoga. We focus on alignment, calmness, strength, and self-awareness.  Ananda means bliss.  Ananda Yoga is the inspiration of Paramhansa Yogananda , author of Autobiography of a Yogi, through his direct disciple Swami Kriyananda.

In Ananda Yoga we take time to breath, move into poses with optimal alignment based on your body, and pause to go inward and feel the results of the pose on the body, mind, and breath.  We work directly with the body and breath to promote harmony and wellness of body and mind.

Ananda Yoga provides all the physical and mental benefits for which Hatha yoga is generally known:

  • Tones and stretches the muscles, building strength and flexibility
  • Promotes cardiovascular health and emotional well-being by providing stress relief
  • Stimulates and invigorates internal organs, thus encouraging the body to heal itself
  • Improves concentration and focus by increasing mental clarity
