Ananda's most comprehensive and popular course!

Next Session Begins September 5, 2024 in person & online.

At the Art and Science of Raja Yoga, you’ll learn how to meditate, how yoga postures can give you strength and confidence, and how the lifestyle of yoga can uplift your life and that of others.

You’ll discover how the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita integrates with the a deeper understanding of the Judao-Christian heritage, and how the science of yoga comes to us through the timeless psycho-spiritual insights of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (wherein is found the Eight-Fold Path known as Ashtanga Yoga).

The practical wisdom of Raja Yoga includes tools for working with the subconscious mind to change habits, and for using the breath to release tension and emotional blocks.

The secrets of success—personal magnetism, right attitude, creativity, and energy—form an integral part of the yoga science. This course features the modern, now “classic” textbook by Swami Kriyananda, The Art and Science of Raja Yoga

In this course, you will:

“Taking "Raja Yoga" was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
It was life changing!”

All of these techniques lead to a place of profound stillness – and it’s in this stillness that we touch upon our true soul nature and experience the qualities of peace, joy, calmness, discernment, and great vitality.

The course is open to all, whether new to this or wanting to deepen your experience. There are no prerequisites. Meet new friends of like mind. No organizational affiliation needed or expected. Raja yoga is universal and nonsectarian.

The Art and Science of Raja Yoga is included in Yoga Teacher Training in the Ananda Institute of Living Yoga. Tuition for “YTT” includes the Art and Science of Raja Yoga course. The Art and Science of Raja Yoga is also a foundational course and prerequisite for those students who may be interested in kriya yoga preparation and initiation.
