The Future Fund will help support the Ananda Washington of tomorrow through planned giving.

What is Planned Giving?
  • It is a process that allows you to shape your spiritual legacy through charitable giving as part of your estate planning. Planned gifts are usually committed now, but given when you pass away.
  • Including a gift to Ananda Washington in your Will or Trust, or making us a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), investment account, or life insurance policy are some simple ways to do this.
Why Participate?
  • Leaving a gift in your will is a powerful way to leave a lasting impact. Even if you haven’t been able to make a large gift during during your lifetime, you can establish your legacy and support Ananda for years to come. In addition, you have the option to designate how your gift is used.
  • Regardless of the size, your future gift will help Ananda in Washington to share Yogananda’s teachings with truth-seeking souls for many years to come. When there are new initiatives, ideas, or creative ways to expand, the Future Fund will be there to provide financial support.
  • These kinds of gifts will help us to provide an income that protects Ananda’s mission from economic uncertainty.
  • Some types of gifts may offer tax benefits to your estate and heirs.
What form might your gift take?
  • Bequests: Designate Ananda Washington as a beneficiary in your will or living trust. This allows you to allocate a specific amount, percentage, or asset of your estate to support the Future Fund.
    • Even leaving a small percentage of your estate can make a large impact.
    • Assests might include jewelry, gold, silver, etc.
  • Retirement Plans: Designate Ananda Washington as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement plan, potentially providing tax benefits to your estate.
  • Investment and Bank Accounts: Name Ananda Washington as a beneficiary of your bank or investment account, potentially providing tax benefits to your estate and offering immediate cash donations.
  • Life Insurance Policies: Name Ananda Washington as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, turning a modest investment into a significant gift.
  • Shares of LWAG (Lynnwood Community): Donating your shares to the Future Fund will assure continuity in the years to come.
  • Real estate property: Real property can gift by will, trust, by joint tenancy with rights of survivorship or by giving a remainder interest in the property after retaining a life estate (use for your lifetime).
  • Charitable Remainder or Annuity Trust. A current year income tax deduction can be obtained if you transfer property during your lifetime and yet still receive the income from (or in some cases the use of) the property during the remainder of your life (or the life of someone else).
