Ananda Yoga is valuable for anyone seeking greater health and well-being. In Ananda Yoga, our focus is on bringing higher awareness to several aspects of being, as taught in The Art and Science of Raja Yoga*.
On a physical level, it can help us be stronger and more aware of how we move our bodies, to help us root out stuck energy that shows up as tension in the body and mind. We will take time to safely warm up the body and practice proper alignment as we move through the yoga postures, so that we can effectively awaken the energy and the spine.
Energetically, our focus is on bringing energy into the spine, and up to the brain, safely, gently, and harmoniously.
Spiritually, we use affirmations aligned with higher states of consciousness, as there is “a very close connection with positions of the body and attitudes of the mind, and also of the soul…these poses are intended to change your whole being. And that being is a radiation outward from within. What you are within, that you will be without.” *
