Community Living

Experience daily meditations, meals three times a week, a Community vegetable garden, fruit trees, and hoop house, lawns, forest, pool, and much more.

Ananda Communities could be described as modern “ashrams” that include individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life and from around the world. Community life offers opportunities for group meditation and yoga, spiritual friendship and service to the ideals and work of Ananda.

An Ananda Community near Lynnwood, just 10 miles north of Seattle, offers opportunities for residency for those seeking to live and share the Self-realization teachings and practices. Prerequisites for residency may vary but all who are sincere are welcome.     From the South
    Take I-5 North to Exit 181A. Stay in the far right lane of the exit, and go straight across 44th Ave. at the stoplight. Follow the “S” curve until it straightens out to become 204th St. SW. In about ¼ mile, take the first right at the auto repair shop which is Larch Way. Go about ¼ mile and turn left into the Ananda Community (look for the ground-level white sign). If coming for a class, stay left at the fork in the drive and head to the back of the Community until you see the sign and building for Hansa Temple on your left. Park in any space without a number.

    From the East Side & from the North
    From Bellevue / Redmond coming north on I-405,

    When 405 reaches I-5, go south toward SEATTLE but DO NOT merge onto I-5. Instead stay to the right and follow the signs to 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. The 196th exit has two lanes: EAST and WEST. Stay in the left lane for 196th St. SW EAST. It will curve backwards and take you over the top of I-5 heading East. Stay in the right lane so you can take the first stoplight, right onto Poplar Lane. Follow Poplar to the SECOND stoplight which is 204th St. Take a right on 204th SW. and go about ¼ mile and turn left onto Larch Way (at the corner auto repair shop). Proceed south on Larch Way a short distance until you see the ground level sign, “Ananda Community.” Turn left into the Community and, if coming for a class, immediately take the left fork following the sign “Hansa/Yoga” around the back of the apartment complex. There you will see the yoga and meditation room. Parking in the rear.

    From from the North (e.g. Everett on I-5)

    Coming from the north (Everett, e.g. ): Take the 196th St SW exit which is just after (past) the exit for I-405 south. It comes up quickly so watch for it. Once on the off-ramp, you will find that the ramp has two lanes: 196th St. SW EAST and WEST. Stay in the left lane which is EAST! It will curve backwards and take you over the top of I-5 heading East. Stay in the right lane so you can take the first stoplight, right onto Poplar Lane.
