To honor the lifelong service of Lahiri Mahasaya–through whose efforts kriya yoga began its journey around the world and into the hearts of countless devotees–we are holding a day of seva (selfless-service) at Heart Song (near Lake Stevens, WA).

Join us as we conduct various service projects at the Heart Song property, both indoors and outside: tasks for all skill and interests, plus lunch, laughter and satsang for our bodies, minds and souls. We’ll make time, too, for chanting and meditation.

Lahiri Mahasaya is considered a enlightened master, an avatar, and yet was a householder who raised a family and held responsible positions in government service. Lahiri’s service in the latter half of the 19th century in Benares, India included making and manufacturing of herbal medicines and helping to create a large high school in Banares in addition to his scriptural discourses and the training of numerous disciples in kriya yoga and in guidance for daily life.
