DESCRIPTION:ABOUT SUNDAY SERVICES AT ANANDA\nSunday Services can also be viewed online starting at 10am! \nSundays at Ananda Meditation Temple are the highlight of the week and are an excellent occasion for your first visit. Sunday Service is drawn from the ancient meditation tradition of the East and the mystical traditions of Christ\, with scriptural readings from both the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita. Service includes music\, chanting\, a brief period of meditation\, inspirational talk\, and a beautiful ceremony called A Festival of Light.  Children are invited to attend Circle of Joy (Sunday School) from 10:00 – 11:15 am.  \nParamhansa Yogananda\, author of  Autobiography of a Yogi and guru-preceptor for the work of Ananda\, encouraged respect for all religions and all forms of sincere worship\, service\, and meditation. His own line of guru-preceptors include Jesus Christ\, Babaji (formerly Krishna)\, Lahiri Mahasaya\, and Swami Sri Yukteswar. Therefore we show particular respect and reverence to Yogananda and these illumined souls who sent him to the West. But our devotion is essentially and always\, as he taught us\, to God alone\, and to the manifest divinity in those whom God sends to earth in human form to teach and uplift others. \nAt Ananda\, each person who comes and participates does so with his or her own\, inner realization and recognition. No one form of reverence\, belief\, or personal relationship to God or the gurus is expected or assumed. All are welcome to the weekly services and meditations. DESCRIPTION:Come and be guided and nourished into a deep state of relaxation through Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra\, led by Lorie Gail. Space is limited please register in advance. REGISTER IN ADVANCE HERE \n\n\n\nRestorative yoga aids complete physical\, mental and emotional relaxation by entirely supporting the body with props so there is no strain or active stretch\, allowing the poses to be held for long period of time. Yoga Nidra is a guided practice that leads into a deep state of relaxation between sleep and wakefulness.Lorie is a Yoga Therapist\, Adaptive Yoga teacher\, and certified Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra instructor with hundreds of hours of specialty training. I am a retired Montessori Teacher and a graduate of Ananda’s Meditation Teacher Training. \n\n\n\nPartnering with me in developing this year-long program is Sharon Traeger. DESCRIPTION:In person every Sunday during Service\, for children ages 4-10. Free \n\n\n\nIt is our intention and our joy to support parents and their children in participating in Sunday Service. \n\n\n\nWho may participate: Children 4-10 \n\n\n\nWhen: Every Sunday at Ananda Blue Lotus Temple \n\n\n\nChildren will stay with parents upstairs until after the first chant\, then they go downstairs with teachers to the large classroom. Parents have the option to join us downstairs or stay in the Sanctuary. Children will be brought back upstairs to join their parent/caregivers in the Sanctuary for the “Touch of Light” blessing during the Festival of Light. \n\n\n\nWho are the teachers for Circle of Joy Sunday School? \n\n\n\nNotes from Ellen Grace\, lead teacher and coordinator for Circle of Joy Sunday School: I directed the Kid’s Yoga Camp last summer\, 2023\, at the Lynnwood Ananda Community. I am a retired Montessori Teacher and a graduate of Ananda’s Meditation Teacher Training. \n\n\n\nPartnering with me in developing this year-long program is Sharon Traeger. She is a retired Preschool teacher and a graduate of Ananda’s Meditation Teacher Training and Spiritual Counseling. \n\n\n\nOther experienced Ananda Sunday School teachers will be part of a rotating team and will be trained by Ellen Grace. There will always be be an assistant with the teacher. \n\n\n\nWhat is included in the Circle of Joy Sunday School? \n\n\n\n\nGetting acquainted games\n\n\n\nAnanda children’s songs\n\n\n\nShort yoga/relaxation time\n\n\n\nStorytime – based on character values\, stories from teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and saints like St. Francis\n\n\n\nSimple fruit snack\n\n\n\nArt/craft time\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor Parents: \n\n\n\nWe are building a reference library of books and websites that expand on the principles of Education for Life\, by Swami Kriyananda. DESCRIPTION:ABOUT SUNDAY SERVICES AT ANANDA\nSunday Services can also be viewed online starting at 10am! \nSundays at Ananda Meditation Temple are the highlight of the week and are an excellent occasion for your first visit. Sunday Service is drawn from the ancient meditation tradition of the East and the mystical traditions of Christ\, with scriptural readings from both the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita. Service includes music\, chanting\, a brief period of meditation\, inspirational talk\, and a beautiful ceremony called A Festival of Light.  Children are invited to attend Circle of Joy (Sunday School) from 10:00 – 11:15 am.  \nParamhansa Yogananda\, author of  Autobiography of a Yogi and guru-preceptor for the work of Ananda\, encouraged respect for all religions and all forms of sincere worship\, service\, and meditation. His own line of guru-preceptors include Jesus Christ\, Babaji (formerly Krishna)\, Lahiri Mahasaya\, and Swami Sri Yukteswar. Therefore we show particular respect and reverence to Yogananda and these illumined souls who sent him to the West. But our devotion is essentially and always\, as he taught us\, to God alone\, and to the manifest divinity in those whom God sends to earth in human form to teach and uplift others. \nAt Ananda\, each person who comes and participates does so with his or her own\, inner realization and recognition. No one form of reverence\, belief\, or personal relationship to God or the gurus is expected or assumed. All are welcome to the weekly services and meditations. DESCRIPTION:Come and be guided and nourished into a deep state of relaxation through Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra\, led by Lorie Gail. Space is limited please register in advance. REGISTER IN ADVANCE HERE \n\n\n\nRestorative yoga aids complete physical\, mental and emotional relaxation by entirely supporting the body with props so there is no strain or active stretch\, allowing the poses to be held for long period of time. Yoga Nidra is a guided practice that leads into a deep state of relaxation between sleep and wakefulness.Lorie is a Yoga Therapist\, Adaptive Yoga teacher\, and certified Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra instructor with hundreds of hours of specialty training. DESCRIPTION:ABOUT SUNDAY SERVICES AT ANANDA\nSunday Services can also be viewed online starting at 10am! \nSundays at Ananda Meditation Temple are the highlight of the week and are an excellent occasion for your first visit. Sunday Service is drawn from the ancient meditation tradition of the East and the mystical traditions of Christ\, with scriptural readings from both the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita. Service includes music\, chanting\, a brief period of meditation\, inspirational talk\, and a beautiful ceremony called A Festival of Light.  Children are invited to attend Circle of Joy (Sunday School) from 10:00 – 11:15 am.  \nParamhansa Yogananda\, author of  Autobiography of a Yogi and guru-preceptor for the work of Ananda\, encouraged respect for all religions and all forms of sincere worship\, service\, and meditation. His own line of guru-preceptors include Jesus Christ\, Babaji (formerly Krishna)\, Lahiri Mahasaya\, and Swami Sri Yukteswar. Therefore we show particular respect and reverence to Yogananda and these illumined souls who sent him to the West. But our devotion is essentially and always\, as he taught us\, to God alone\, and to the manifest divinity in those whom God sends to earth in human form to teach and uplift others. \nAt Ananda\, each person who comes and participates does so with his or her own\, inner realization and recognition. No one form of reverence\, belief\, or personal relationship to God or the gurus is expected or assumed. All are welcome to the weekly services and meditations. Parents have the option to join us downstairs or stay in the Sanctuary. Children will be brought back upstairs to join their parent/caregivers in the Sanctuary for the “Touch of Light” blessing during the Festival of Light. \n\n\n\nWho are the teachers for Circle of Joy Sunday School? \n\n\n\nNotes from Ellen Grace\, lead teacher and coordinator for Circle of Joy Sunday School: I directed the Kid’s Yoga Camp last summer\, 2023\, at the Lynnwood Ananda Community. I am a retired Montessori Teacher and a graduate of Ananda’s Meditation Teacher Training. \n\n\n\nPartnering with me in developing this year-long program is Sharon Traeger. She is a retired Preschool teacher and a graduate of Ananda’s Meditation Teacher Training and Spiritual Counseling. \n\n\n\nOther experienced Ananda Sunday School teachers will be part of a rotating team and will be trained by Ellen Grace. There will always be be an assistant with the teacher. \n\n\n\nWhat is included in the Circle of Joy Sunday School? \n\n\n\n\nGetting acquainted games\n\n\n\nAnanda children’s songs\n\n\n\nShort yoga/relaxation time\n\n\n\nStorytime – based on character values\, stories from teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and saints like St. Francis\n\n\n\nSimple fruit snack\n\n\n\nArt/craft time\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor Parents: \n\n\n\nWe are building a reference library of books and websites that expand on the principles of Education for Life\, by Swami Kriyananda.
