Bekka is a long-time daily meditator and member of Ananda. She holds a Ph.D .in English Literature with a Certificate in Theory & Criticism from the University of Washington, and earned her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Purdue University. She has been teaching literature, composition and fiction writing for the past 12 years. Before coming to Antioch, she worked with psychology and sociology students in the UW’s interdisciplinary writing program. She is particularly interested in the intersection of narrative and identity, and in the power of language to affect conscious states.
She lives with her husband Bruce Davis at the Ananda Community in Lynnwood, Washington.
