COURSE CONTENT:
- To have a deeper meditation practice
- Mahamudra
- Tuning into Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings
- Watching and discussing Swami Kriyananda’s talks on Guru/Disciple relationship
- Reading and discussing A Handbook on Discipleship, written by Swami Kriyananda. Swami Kriyananda shares insights into the importance and practice of the Guru/Disciple relationship. Stories of his personal experiences with Paramhansa Yogananda help to prepare the student for either an at-home or in-person initiation into discipleship to Yogananda and to the line of Masters of Self-Realization, if he or she feels ready for this level of commitment.

Day Retreat: Saturday July 11th, 10am-4pm
Discipleship Ceremony: July 19, after Sunday Service (around 11:15 am) in person or online

About: This day retreat is for all students hoping to take Kriya Initiation (both July and November groups). The day will be hosted by Kriyacharyas Hriman and Padma, the spiritual directors of Ananda Washington, and Vahini, the leader of the Kriya preparation team.
Kriyacharyas Hriman and Padma are the ones who will be giving Kriya Initiation and teaching the technique, and this day will give students the opportunity to get to know them.
Students can expect the day to be filled with chanting, meditation, and lively discussion about Kriya Yoga.
Lunch will be potluck style.
