Spring Has Sprung Seva Day at Heart Song
March 21, 2026 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm PDT
Free and open to all!
The Spring Has Sprung Seva Day at Heart Song Retreat is a day of seva, or selfless service, held in celebration of the Spring Equinox, a time when day and night are in balance, and the world awakens with vibrant new life. As a season of renewal, growth, and reflection, Spring offers an ideal opportunity to practice seva, connecting with friends, community, and spirit in nature.
In the month of March, the retreat’s forest setting reflects this seasonal awakening. Along tree-lined driveway, trillium and wild ginger emerge, while daffodils and tulips brighten the gardens, and early rhododendrons begin to bloom, offering a living reflection of Spring’s renewal.
Paramhansa Yogananda’s guru, Sri Yukteswar sponsored festivals at the equinoxes and solstices as these are times of balanced energy and natural transition, conducive to spiritual fellowship and practice.
What the day will look like:
There will be opportunities for everyone of all skill-levels to serve both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work may require garden gloves or tools (provided or bring your own), and dressing for the weather is recommended.
A simple vegetarian lunch, along with coffee and treats, will be provided. We will end the day with chanting and meditation.
Carpooling from the Ananda Community in Lynnwood is available.
