This 4-class series meets on Tuesday mornings (October 5, 12, 19, 26) from 10:30 – 11:30a online (Zoom).

During this series, you will learn the basics of meditation so you feel confident and ready to start your own practice.  Each class will offer topics of inspiration, simple and effective meditation techniques, a guided meditation, and time for questions and answers.

Topics covered are the three stages of meditation, how to sit and where to concentrate, simple techniques to relax the body and concentrate the mind, and how to move toward greater Self-awareness.

This course is perfect for beginners and for those with some experience who would like to establish a consistent practice. You can re-take this series at any time, at no charge. No organizational affiliation is required or expected.

Week 1 – Relaxation and Concentration:  Learn simple techniques to release tension from and relax the body; simple breathing techniques to calm the mind; how to sit for meditation; and where to concentrate and why.

Week 2 – Good Health and Vitality:  Explore how to tune into and work with the flow of energy in the body to bring about a greater sense of vitality and well-being.

Week 3 – Calm Feeling:  The secret to meditation lies not in the mind but in the heart.  Learn how to move from a state of reactivity to a deeper place of calm feeling and emotional stability using affirmations, imagery, and breath awareness.

Week 4 – Superconscious Living:  Beyond the subconscious and conscious mind lies a ‘superconscious’ state – where one can find intuitive answers to problems, attain peace of mind, and know joy that is not dependent upon any outward circumstances.  Guidance and practices, such as the ancient Hong Sau technique, will be offered so you can move toward this greater state of Self-awareness.
