IN-PERSON OR ONLINE: LEARN TO MEDITATE 2 – EXPANDING YOUR PRACTICE

This class series is offered both IN-PERSON at the Blue Lotus Temple (we ask everyone to wear a face mask please) and ONLINE on Zoom.
This 4-class series meets on Tuesday mornings (February 1, 8, 15, 22) from 10:30-11:30a Pacific Time. In-person & online (Zoom), $45/series
During this series, you have the opportunity to expand upon the practices learned in Learn to Meditate 1*. This series is designed to be workshop-style with much time devoted to your questions so you can deepen and refine your own experience. Also included in each class will be a longer guided meditation.
Topics covered are Pranayama (energy control practices), Yogananda’s Energization Exercises, working with the Hong Sau technique in specific stages of deepening awareness, how to bring feeling into the basic breath control and observation techniques, the importance of going beyond the techniques into inner stillness, and the 8 basic aspects of Superconsciousness.
You can re-take this series at any time, at no charge. No organizational affiliation is required or expected.
Week 1 – Relaxation and Concentration: Refine your experience and understanding of breath techniques such as the Double Breath, dividing the Hong Sau techniques into specific stages of deepening awareness, and learning Alternate Nostril Breathing.
Week 2 – Good Health and Vitality: Learn Yogananda’s Energization Techniques as a doorway to increased awareness of energy in the body. From awareness comes the ability to control one’s life force and vitality or prana in Sanskrit.
Week 3 – Calm Feeling: Resting in the calm center of deep and refined feeling is the key to inner peace and joy. Explore calming and expansive imagery, learn how to pray in the language of your own heart, simple chants, and ways to bring calm feeling and inspiration into your practices.
Week 4 – Superconscious Living: Superconsciousness is the realm of intuition from which come answers, guidance, inspiration and the innate soul qualities of joy, love, vitality, peace, calmness, and the inner experiences of astral light and sound. Explore how to approach Superconsciousness based upon whether your temperament is devotional, energetic, or metaphysical.
