6 – 7 pm Ananda Yoga & the Bhagavad Gita with Vahini (optional)

7 to 8:30 pm Gita class

The beloved “Bible of India” was written long ago and is a time capsule for the current age. It is nonsectarian yet deeply profound. It points to advanced meditation and the inner workings of the heart and mind of sincere truth-seeking souls.

Our text–Essence of the Bhagavad Gita— is the magnum opus of Swami Kriyananda’s long life as a spiritual teacher and author of some 150 books sharing the revelations of the world teacher, Paramhansa Yogananda.

The Gita is the essence of the Vedas and the Upanishads, the great works of ancient India known as Sanaatan Dharma (the Eternal Religion). Some of the highlights of this great treasure include:

  • Essence of Advaita Vedanta
  • Secret of Right Action
  • Devotion to the Supreme Lord
  • What is wisdom and gyana yoga?
  • Karma and reincarnation
  • The soul’s destiny in God-union
  • The role of the true (sat) guru
  • Qualities of matter and consciousness (gunas)
  • Cycles of time (yugas) and much more.

Each session will include meditation time and group discussion.
