Nayaswami Hriman McGilloway and Murali Venkatrao, Director of Yoga Teacher Training for the Institute of Living Yoga, present this in-depth course on India’s beloved “bible,” the Bhagavad Gita (The Song of God). The “Gita” contains deep and practical insights into right action, right attitude, meditation, and the underlying reality of creation itself.

The Gita explores the great themes of life: death, evil, delusion, happiness, and the true purpose of life. The Gita offers practical solutions to everyday life. It is universal and nonsectarian: a guide for all times and all sincere truthseekers.

Our text is ESSENCE OF THE BHAGAVAD GITA by Swami Kriyananda.

We will select from among the most famous and deepest stanzas from the Gita. Some of the core themes will include:

· The battlefield: who wears the white hats; the black hats?
· The summons of life: we must choose
· What holds us back? “Arjuna’s discouragement”
· What is right action? Nishkam karma
· Have we lived before?
· Three stages and qualities of nature and consciousness
· Is wisdom better than right action?
· The importance of meditation
·Devotion: the great purifier
