Yogasana Intensive #1: Yoga for Stress Relief @ Ananda Meditation Temple
Oct 4 @ 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Chronic stress is widespread and either causes or exacerbates several conditions, including: insomnia, hypertension, diabetes, joint disorders, chronic fatigue, impaired digestion, metabolic disorders, and endocrine dysfunction. The practice of Yoga and meditation has been proven to reduce chronic stress and reverse its effects on the body.

In this workshop, we will explore the anatomy and physiology of the autonomic nervous system, and how chronic stress reduces the parasympathetic tone – aka “relaxation response”. We will then practice specific asanas, pranayams and locks which awaken the relaxation response in the body and help counteract effects of stress. Special attention is given to the effects of basic meditation techniques such as Hong Sau. The Yogasana Intensives are a series of 9 workshops designed to explore the physical, astral, and causal aspects of yoga postures. Designed for all levels and for students considering Yoga Teacher Training, each workshop picks up the thread of Hatha Yoga from a specific topic and typically consists of:

  • A brief discussion of the topic
  • An asana and pranayama routine, designed specifically to explore the topic with our bodies
  • A meditation session

At the end of each workshop, we will provide a suggested Yoga routine which you can practice at home to continue your exploration.

Price: $50.00

Prepay for any 5 workshops for $225 (save $25), or all 9 workshops for $400 (save $50)
